Preface
This book is made up of questions and answers. The questions are a sampling— though not necessarily a representative one—of those that people have sent to the Ellen G. White Estate (http://www.whiteestate.org) in recent years. With a couple of exceptions, the answers were written by William Fagal, an associate director of the White Estate. The names of those who submitted the questions don’t appear on the Web site, and we haven’t included them in this book either. 101Q 13.1
These questions and answers weren’t written with publication in mind, so we’ve edited them for use in this book. The author has also modified several answers to reflect more recent thoughts and information or to meet the needs of readers. And to keep this book to a reasonable length, most of the answers published here have been abbreviated from those that appear on the Web site. Many of those answers contain entire documents or complete chapters of books. 101Q 13.2
You can read the full questions and answers on the White Estate Digital Resource Center Web site (http://drc.whiteestate.org). To help you find them, we’ve placed the Web site titles for the questions and answers in parentheses and quotation marks under the questions we use as “chapter” titles. Key the Web site titles into the search box in the upper left-hand corner of the Digital Resource Center Web page. 101Q 13.3
You may notice that in some instances, the Web site titles don’t seem to fit the topics of the questions and answers that follow them. Often that’s because the original inquiry contained multiple questions, and we’ve used a different question and answer than the one on which the Web site title was based. 101Q 13.4
We’ve followed the rather idiosyncratic form that has become customary in referencing quotations from Ellen White’s books, periodical articles, and so forth. For the full bibliographic information on the works cited and the key to the abbreviations used, please see the bibliography at the back of this book. 101Q 14.1
May reading this book increase your understanding of and strengthen your faith in God’s communication with us through His messengers, ancient and modern. 101Q 14.2
